Queensland Maroons

The Queensland Maroons is also known as the Queensland rugby team who plays in the State of Origin against New South Wales. The team started out in 1908 and played their first game against New Zealand. The team started their State of Origin debut back in 1980. A majority of their players are from Queensland, however some are from interstate teams such as the Melbourne Storm, Newcastle Knights, Penrith Panthers and the Canberra Raiders. To this date, they have secured 12 wins out of 15 State of Origins. Their team colours are maroon, gold and white.
